Hey all, I am looking to get a new windshield. I have an '06 1200 xlc. I was first thinking of a fly screen from National, but now I'm afraid it would be too small. Has anyone tried their street shield? Thanks in advance.
I have one of the Memphis shades Del Rio wind shields, and for my height it is too short. it causes so much buffeting at highway speeds that it was difficult to see, however it does look good on the bike. I ran it for almost a year, and made many adjustments to it to get rid of the buffeting, up, down, tilt, none got them all gone. All windshields are a compromise i got a deal on a Memphis fats and it has its own set of things that it does, but for me the most important was getting my head to stop bouncing. hope this helps
I had a National- Streetshield EX on my Shadow and it worked great.
It had plenty of rake and height adjustment so you could tweak the airflow.
It was a little bigger than the original Streetshield and I had no buffeting.
The 14in HD branded Memphis that was on my 1200 Sporty was too short and would buffet pretty bad. I ordered the next height-up replacement plastic and it was much better.
Here's the Streetshield EX:
