Actually, I just had an idea. Are you sure the engine is overheating or the bike just shuts down? A common problem with these bikes is the crank position sensor. This could make the bike shut down and hard to restart with some other annoying problems. It could also cause the engine to overheat. If there is a problem with the crank position sensor it should set an error code. See if there are any error codes stored. Do you know how to read them via the speedo?
Yes i'm past buying the extended "fix for free", so I'll have touse thepay asI go method.Yes it does still run hot but not like it did, and it never gets so hot that it shuts down since the rebuild,but I don't get into situations that make me sit for very long with the engine running. Thecrank position sensor sounds like a good thing to check out. I know timing issues can cause heat related problems.I didn't know you could check error codes via the speedo, but I'll check into it right away.

When you have a problem such as yours... you need to get a service history started on the bike... your compaint is part of the history and when, as in your case, they can't deny the claim because it is what your brought it in for originally... I was their failure to solve the problem...
