Default Installed the clutch and it's still messed up

So, I installed my clutch basket that was put together by my local dealer. I put everything back together, and took it for a test ride.

First, the clutch is a lot harder to pull then before. It is engaging fine. About half way out.

But, after about 10 minutes of riding, when I pull the clutch lever it sounds like there is something "Crunching" inside while sitting and not moving. It also sometimes sounds like a "Belt" squeal? It doesn't sound good at all. I pulled over in a parking lot and put it into neutral. I just sat there pulling the clutch. And it sounded AWFUL.

When I was riding it was fine, and shifted up and down with no problems.

Buddy, the first thing I would check is the primary chain.

Did you adjust the clutch and cable after install or just put it back together and ride?

First, what did the shop find when they disassembled your clutch basket? Was the Spring Plate coming apart?

+1 on double checking the primary chain tension, and also, what is the condition of the chain tensioner (plastic) Shoe?

And yes, the SE clutch pack (no spring plate) does require ~35-40% more pull force.

If you are going to take it apart again put the original diaphram spring back in...you don't need the extra pressure and your hand will thank you.

Don't get the LOL...but anyway, the stock clutch is good for 100hp. Is he running above that or beating it on the strip?

I think you're confusing the diaphragm spring that rickss69 is referring to, for the Spring Plate.

But in any case, I'm not sure the lighter 883 diaphragm spring is suitable for 100 HP, but that just my 2˘ because I don't like having to repeatedly work on the clutch.
