Default Help with rear lower blocks on Sportster 48!!!

I just installed rear lower blocks on my 2012 Sportster 48 today. The blocks I got allows you to lower the rear 1" - 3". I put it on the middle hole which would be 2". I checked it out for clearance issues but it looked good while sitting there. I took it out for a test ride and it had some rubbing when I would hit a good dip in the road. After I got back I noticed that the tire had some minor nicks in the center of there tire from the rubbing. Any ideas? Is it from the seat bolt? What if I adjust the shock setting stiffer? Get a shorter bolt for the seat? I love the look of the bike now and I don't want to raise it back up.

I did 1" on my Iron and gouged the tire pretty good. Stiffened the springs (I weight 170) and it rode like a buckboard. Put on Progressives, not much better so I deep six'd the blocks. Not worth the problems for me anyway.

Pretty sure you can only run it on the 1st hole from the front. Your shocks are 11" & the holes you have it on are for 12"-13" shocks. If you want it that low, get some 10" rigid struts.

That's what I was thinking but wasn't hoping. I wonder if the 10" ridged struts would beat me up too bad? Would you use them?

I am running struts, have about 5000 miles with them now. Mid controls make the struts much better.

Here is a day pic. I love the fender hugging the tire look. I might just go with struts.

You can raise the suspension one inch (first hole) and get the same length the struts will give you. If you choose the 10" ones.

I have 13" shocks on my iron and I dropped it two inches, giving me your stock 48's height. The dealer who installed it said if I dropped it another inch I might have trouble with the license plate mount.

What you can do is either remove the passenger seat bolts or modify/get smaller ones and that, I think, will allow you to take it to 9".
