1200 Custom starting issue
Hi Guys
I have recently bought a 99 1200 Custom off my brother. It refuses to start after a run if you use the killswitch! It will re start if you leave the bike for a while. I have also had the same issue whilst on the road, it backfires through the carb and then dies out. If you leave it for a while she re starts.
I have checked lots of electrical connections and put another earth lead from the engine straight to the battery, no change.
When the engine is turning over whilst you have the problem, it does backfire through the carb in a spectacular style.
And ideas would be welcomed.

Many thanks for your reply. I hadn't thought of that one! I was suspecting the coil, but my brother has told me its not very old and not done a great number of miles. Might give me the excuse to put a better module on it!
At least some good will come of it then.
Will let ya know how i get on. Wont be untill the weekend tho.
