I have an 07' XL 1200C. Picked it up a year ago and the throttle response has always been jerky. Nothing like my old EVO Road King or Fatboy. Took it to a dealer and the $100 response/answer was, "That's the way they're supposed to run. You're just not used to a Sportster. But we did change one of your spark plugs."
I made sure I didn't have an exhaust leak and replaced the small exhaust gaskets on the stock mufflers. That helped a little.
I've been reading that the 07's have a bad throttle response and can be corrected by eliminating the 02 sensor. Has anyone experienced the same problem and is the 02 eliminator the fix?
'07 was the first year for EFI on the Sportster, and that's where my money is on your problem. Whether it be the o2 sensor or MAP, I put the cause on the EFI not mixing/functioning properly.

I'm inclined to agree with you, I've read where throttle response is a problem on the 07's and if that was the first EFI year on that engine, it may be a design problem. The dealer never said anything about it when I took it to them with the problem.

Thanks to all for the input..
Appreciate it.

Owned three different '07 Sportsters so far with no problems...I would be looking elsewhere.
