Ok, noob question #39: When I am wearing boots, I literally have to jam my foot between the peg and shifter to up-shift. It looks like the shifter lever can be adjusted via loosening the allen bolt. Is that there is all to it? I can't see if there are splines on the shaft. Also, does it require levering out the shifter from the shaft? Or forcing anything?
I know much of the above sounds like someone who has never held a screw driver....I am not that person (very mechanically inclined)...I just don't want to break anything this early in the game. : )
Yes, loosen the allen bolt then yank the shifter all the way off the shaft. You may want to mark the current position with a pencil or something for reference. Just carefully realign the splines in desired position. I had to give mine a light whack to get it all the way on. Use some Blue Loctite on the allen bolt.

all the new ones are splined the only problem when taking it off is try not to mess up the seal on the shifter shaft or at least inspect it before you put the lever back on or it will leak on you
