short trip kinks
I will admit, today I went to a dealer and scoped out a nice RKC and a Deluxe....now just to come up with the money...(of course I will keep my sporty)
Could very well be due to the cold..... muscles contract/constrict in the low temps and and often will tear tissue(especially holding on to a torso acting as a sail at those speeds).
Ibuprophen, a stiff drink, and a good nights sleep..........

If I know I'm doing highway riding for more than 50 miles, I generally will put on a light layer under my jeans at anything below 60 degrees, just to be comfy for the long haul. Under 50, I wear my mid-weight layer under my jeans. Under 40, I wear the heavy stuff under my jeans...
It might sound excessive to some, but I'm always comfy that way, and it's like the temps don't matter, I could stay out all day...

Yea. The bike is well broken in, thats not the problem. It's just me, and doing a longer ride at the start of the warmer weather. I need to get the kinks out of me. I feel better this morning. Took a few motrin and got some rest. I'm ready again. Blue HD is right, should have expected to be cold even though the temps had been higher than they have been. Shivering is an involuntary reaction of the body in anattempt to get warmer. It will drain you of energy and cause fatigue, not to mention the soreness associated with it. Morel of the story is, be prepared.
Setting the bike up for you to be comfortable is another thing...
Between the shoulder blade pain is usually from reaching for the bars, either height or forward/back position... The right bars make all the difference in the world...
Leg position and the seat itself will help with the sore butt thing...
Being able to chane leg positions will move the pressure points on your butt around so that it doesnt get so numb...
Lastly... a back rest for the operator... you'd be surprised at how much more wind in the chest you can take with one... not to mention being more relaxed... you don't have to have such a death grip on the handle bars which relaxes the upper body...
Now all this is from my years of riding experience... you body may vary the things mentioned... lol
