So due to a gas stain in my flat black tank I am going to repaint my tank and probably clear coat the fenders. Since I am repainting I might as well do a color change but I have no ideas for a new color. I like the bobber look and the older stuff. Not a real big fan of flames and nothing too crazy because I'm trying to keep the cost down. What ideas do you guys have for the tank when the fenders will be staying black? Here is a picture of how the bike currently looks. Thanks for the help. New paint-image-1980760084.jpg Sent from my iPhone using IB AutoGroup

If you are going to do a color change just because then you should change all the tins. Otherwise black is never a bad choice

I feel like a white or cream color with a decal or emblem on the tank could turn out decent, would do well with your white walls.

The obvious answer here is to rub down the rest of the tank with gas so everything matches. Depending on the stain some manner of racing stripe could hide it. Wouldn't be all that taxed. We're just spitballing here right?

Yep. Just throwing ideas around. I will prob just redo the tank the same way if I can't think if anything else I like.

Bright Silver or a darker gunmetal silver would look good,, but wouldn't go well with the white-walls

if you really like those white-wall tires then a white or pearl color to match would look good too...

just about anything would look good,, sun glow blue, metallic red,, oranges, anything dark metallic color would look good,,

I beg to differ. The Hard Candy silver is fairly dark and looks amazing on the Seventy Two.

I'm thinking white tank with maybe a black checkered flag stripe down the middle? Ties in with the black fenders and whitewall tires.
