Default Help!

I was installing my battery in a 2009 Sportster when I noticed this line hanging down from the fuel tank. I've been looking for an attachment point but haven't been able to find it.

Also is it safe to start the bike with that hose hanging like that?

It's the vent hose. It's supposed to vent to the atmosphere. Just clip it back in place and tuck the hose out of site.

The clip is to the left of the battery. The black plastic piece on the hose (vent valve) fits into the clip just to the left of the battery. Then just tuck the hose away to vent to the ground and replace the battery cover

So it just vents the fuel tank?

Thanks everyone. I just started her up and it was sweet music to my ears.

Due to a boneheaded move on my part last Saturday, a gorgeous day of riding on Sunday was cancelled. I left the key in the ignition in the on position for a couple of hours and totally drained the battery. Put the trickle charger on around 6 that evening and it didn't charge it enough to start her on Sunday morning. Took the battery out to be charged at autozone, and then lost some square nuts, and no one had any available. Been real busy this week and today was the first opportunity to get it back in.

One last question, will a battery tender jr, eventually charge up a fully drained battery? If so how long would it take?
