Default crankcase vent question

Just got a 2014 48 and I want to handle this crankcase vent issue before it causes any problems up the road, my question is I still have the stock air box I just cut it and modified it to be open with the K&N direct bolt on replacement filter, is there any crankcase vent systems I can buy or DIY i can do with the stock back plate ? all help is greatly appreciated.

If they're open holes don't fret. I have the DK bolt and an thrilled with them. Worst that can happen is more air for the engine haha

Venting the crankcase to the atmosphere is an excellent idea but I wouldn't be too worried about having problems if you don't.

Most people have no problems with the stock set up. Keep your oil level at about 1/3 on the dipstick when checked hot will help avoid possible issues.

The breather bolts were designed to work in conjunction with our outlaw 587 and 425 Air Cleaners, though they do work with some other aftermarket Air Cleaners.

They do not however work with the stock setup. That is why we started selling different breather systems such as the discrete breather system, which is what will work best with your application.

If you cut away the plastic backing then you can use the discrete breather system. You will need to cut the two standoff holes on the back of the filter element and then plug those holes and it will then work fine with the Discrete System.

Here is a picture of this system with our Air Cleaner:
