Default Can you help deterimine a value on this Salavage Nightster?

Hello folks,

Im considering picking up an 07 Nightster.

-14K miles
-Screaming eagle air cleaner
-Vance & Hines chrome shortshots (Has anyone painted the heat shields black, does the paint stay on them?)
-Restored title, history is gray, guy claims that it was vandalized, tiers, seat, dropped on the side. "No damage to frame and motor".
-I inspected the bike visually no obvious damage was found, took it on the test ride and it handled fine up to about 100MPH.
-Its fixed up well, can't tell its a salvage title.
-Pulled up the Vehicle report on it and it says it wasn't involved in collision accident, nor was it recorded as vandalized, wasnt stolen or any other reasons, just says salvage, then title was rebuilt and registered.

What would be a good price for this bike? Considering that its salvage title.

There is a possibility I might need to resell this bike with next few months due to job relocation. So I need to pay what I can get back for it if I needed to move.

Thank you in advance.

Salvage titles are a tough sell.
If you buy it, you'll be doing the seller a favor.

Too many good bikes out there with good titles.
Insurance companies aren't real friendly with salvage titles as a claim has already been paid.

So is the title a "Rebuilt" or "Salvage" or regular title, as you mentioned both a rebuilt title and then also salvage title......It varies per state, and in some states will issue a completely new title once you take the rebuilt title & bike for the state inspection/verification.....Other states will not alter a title once it's been altered to rebuilt or salvage.

A branded title sometimes make for a great purchase but the reason is that a resell eliminates a huge portion of the general population.
Someone looking to purchase and resell may wish to look someplace else unless it was a smoking deal like 50% of book.
A story means next to zero unless he was the original owner and he was known to you.

If it wasn't stolen, vandalized, or crashed why is it a salvage bike? I would walk away or pay half of book value tops.

I think something is pretty fishy with this one....

The title was first salvage, then fixed up and inspected by the DMV and issued a rebuilt title.
