So last night I was riding home at about 9:30. I was going 45 mph, which is the speed limit, on a road without much of a shoulder. I noticed three kids that looked to be late teens or so walking down my side of the road towards me. They all looked up and kind of stared at me and I had a funny feeling, which turned out to be correct. I moved over a little toward the center of the road but kept my speed. Right as I got near them, they all lunged out into the road at me. I don't know if they were hoping to make me wreck or were trying to touch the bike as I went by, or what. I did a quick avoidance turn and accelerated away from them, but it really pissed me off. There were trees on either side of the road, and if I had lost control I could have hit a tree and been killed. I didn't call the police last night because by the time I got home, they would have been gone, and I couldn't have picked them out of a line up anyway. I did go by the police station this morning and told one of the motorcycle cops what had happened. He lives in the area and acted like he had a pretty good idea who the kids were.
WTF? Has anyone else ever experienced that? The cop told me if it happens again to give them a good kick as I go by, but that would probably just dislocate my knee at 45 mph.
damn dude, that sucks....glad you were able to do the right thing and avoid it! As a newbie rider, I'm not sure if I'd react quick enough....it almost makes you want to stop and kick their a$$....and then their parents a$$ for raising suck a$$holes.....
I am sure if you kicked em and they called the cops you would be up ***** creek
Whip or bear spray might work..... i am sure i"d pull up a good mouth full of spit and soak em all in the face
