My Gf bought a new IRON 883, had the dealer put forward controls on it, They kept her peg mounts which came with the bike and they come with the kit, My way of thinking they should have returned the mounts that came with the bike, or did she buy a bike without rider pegs?? a $100 cost from Harley!!

Reason: read wrong
You need to call them and tell them you'll be in to pick them up. They tried to keep my engine guard and highway pegs on one bike when I traded it in. I called the next day and said put them in a box I'm coming to get them. I think the dealer has ten days and if they don't hear from you then they can keep them. I always tell them if there is a change made that I will keep what they took off. Go get them back - you have every right to them.
Yeah this is BS. My dealership tried the same damn thing and he had my original pipes, bars, AC, etc...and I said what if I didn't ask for them back.....he said they just keep the stuff! Call and get it back asap if possible.
I think it is BS that you have to "claim" your take off parts within 10 days if you want it. An honest reputable business would have them there waiting for you when you pick up the bike. Just another reason in a long list of reasons why I don't let the dealership touch my bike.
A LOT of guys don't care about the original parts when they get stuff changed. Last year my dealer had a 'garage sale' of used and take off parts, just make them an offer. I picked up a new set of black mirrors for $10. The box had the guys name on it, he just never bothered to come back and pick them up. The parts guy said they end up with tons of stuff like that, they can't put it into inventory as new parts, it becomes a real pain in the *** for them to deal with.
most dealers state in their terms & conditions that if you don't ask for and pick up the take off parts within xx days they will keep them ... ALWAYS ASK FOR YOUR PARTS!

This thread is a rip-off! I thought the dealer put a knife to your throat as your girlfriend was being passed around and then overcharged you on oil!
