"dealer rip off" and it is his second post...probably only joined so he could **** and moan. most dealers will save them for a few days if you tell them you want them. better to tell them you want them back and have it written on the work order.

yeah, you know this is funny too, I traded In my xl1200c, it had the sport windshield, crash bar, highway pegs, and a back rest on it along with quite a few nice upgrade parts, I figured they would give me more trade value because of the upgrades and sales guy said that he did give me $500 more because "it was a nice Sportster". So I didn't bother taking any of the parts off. I went back to check it out on the sales floor and was surprised they took the crash bar, Windshield, and backrest off.. I thought that was crazy, sales guy said "that's how most people want sportsters so this makes it easier to sale". crash bar & windshield were like new and both Harley parts, and it was the mustache crash bar too so it looked great. I understand taking the back rest off because it was a cheap one... but I didn't ask for the parts back since it was already a done deal.. it just surprised me, I guess they'll resale those parts somehow, they are easily worth $250. One of those dealerships must be a goldmine just in take-off parts. Some of them aren't worth crap but some bring good money on ebay.
