I have a 2024 Harley-Davidson Sportster S RH1250 with about 350 km on it. A few days ago, I noticed a serious problem the bike wont rev past roughly 3000 RPM, it feels like its in limp mode, and it accelerates very slowly. The Check Engine light is on.
I ran the built-in diagnostics and got the code P180000P from the ECM (P module). I cant find this code in the standard Harley trouble code lists.
Has anyone seen this P180000P code before on a Sportster S? Is it related to the throttle system, ECM software, or something else? Any advice or experience would be really helpful.
Yes- it sounds like you are in limp mode.
i couldnt find that specific code on my google search either- but you are correct in that the P code means powertrain.
id look for loose connectors- wiggle some harnesses- and make sure battery voltage is ok- these bikes seem very voltage sensitive.
keep us posted!

When I bought this motorcycle, the battery was completely dead and I had to recharge it. After that it came back to life, and now the voltage level is between 12.5 and 14.5. Could this still be the problem?

Thanks Jay! Again- if the circuit is open- could be a loose connector- loose pin in a connector- broken wire. Poke around and inspect.
Could you please specify exactly what I should check for the VVT control solenoid rear exhaust circuit open issue? For example, should I look for specific connectors, wires, or pins, and how should I inspect them?
Im having trouble figuring out this model, and Im in a place where theres no service or dealership nearby to inspect my bike. I have to do everything myself, so if you can help me and explain clearly what I should dosuch as what to check, which parts to buy, and which ones to replaceId greatly appreciate it. Thank you in advance, Harley team members🙏🙏
