Hi , so i filled the bike up the other day and it said the usual 108 miles to empty. Went out on it yesterday and didnt really take much notice of the miles to empty until I was on my way home and the range was still 108 miles. When I got home I opened my app and it says 32 miles left to empty. Obviously something wrong and luckily noticed the range before I ran out of fuel. The green fuel level indicator is on full green too. Anyone else had this type of issue and is there a reset I can do on the bike or is it a dealer visit. Bike still under warranty so not a major issue but just annoying that a new bike has this issue.
Never heard of this one....
I suggest filling your tank and watching again.
if the fuel level sender is actually pooched- it seems to be a pretty easy replacement- the tank doesnt even need to be removed off the bike.
I dont use the app as I think its terrible and not very accurate but after a fill up I can usually go about 20 km or so before the range changes on the bike.
How far was your ride? Does it make sense that youd only have 32 miles left?
I went for a ride for about an hour, usually doing around 50 miles according to my recorded rides. I checked my recorded ride on the outing but it had recorded it as a straight line. So it says I was riding for 40 mins, travelled 2.3KM (even though my app is set to miles) , top speed of 7 MPH and an average speed of 2 MPH. Yes this app is not the best….. I’ll fill up and see how much I can get in and take it from there
Update on this. I filled up and got a measly Ł4.50 in the tank. To fill up is usually around Ł13. That’s with super strength fuel….Did a small ride then pulled over and the app still said 32 miles in tank. I went to the settings on the bike turned off Bluetooth to my phone then turned it back on and hey presto it’s now reading the same on the bike as on the app. I think I was been paranoid with the app miles range and like someone said, it takes a few miles when filled up before the range goes down. Even though the Bluetooth symbol was on the bike it wasn’t taking to my phone. Technology eh……..
Technology is supposed to make things easier and convenient. This apparently is not one of those times. Forget the app and bluetooth and just use one of the trip odometers to let you know when you're getting close to a fill-up. Keep it simple.
While I generally like tech, HD has a ways to go before I would call the app good.
That being said, I learned a lont time ago to always reset the tripmeter whenever I get fuel. Too many old shitty cars in my life that left me on the side of the road, out of gas, saying it had a half a tank, to trust a fuel gauge anymore.
