What does refill rate mean? Filling the cylinder? Filling the exhaust system? Not sure you you can use the term refill rate on an exhaust system as it is not a pump like cylinder. At you mean exchange or replacement rate? I think that the right term. Old combusted exhaust is replaced/exchanged for new?
Hint: If the exhaust contains the O2 sensor and it has a volume and a refill rate it must also have a exit. Does that chamber volume equal the cylinder volume? Does it exit to a lower pressure? How often does it get refilled?
I ran this past a thermodynamics PHD friend and he came to the conclusion that without the average temperature, pressure and exact makeup of the "gas" in the exhaust system, it would be a fairly complicated calculation. His thought is it would take a MAF or at least average exhaust velocity to figure it out.
His thought was the exhaust designers may have a decent handle on this stuff. We moved on tho the test I did.

Especially in the Harley world exhaust mfgs must follow form with function to their exhaust system designs.
Unlike racecars, Harley motorcycles don't have the room or desire to put function before form.
It's all about minimizing the ill effects of the forced design perimeters of exhaust designs.
I simply enjoy teaching people how to tune and how to spot the patterns when things go bad.

Before you go trying to teach people, you need at least to learn how to do it correctly yourself. Your here on a HD forum, not anywhere else, so drop all the car stuff and your wrong theories, then learn the HD problems and how to correctly fix those. Once you have learned how to do that then you can pass the knowledge along. All your doing now is hurting people and making yourself look pretty bad IMHO.

Assuming the compression ratio is greater than 2 to 1, I would assume the combustion chamber is smaller.. Not sure where you are going with this. Or are you calling the exhaust system the "chamber"? Higher pressure always flows to lower pressure until the pressure is equalized and any energy in the flow has died out..
Are you asking how often the exhaust pipe volume is exchanged?
