Ride yesterday

from Korona. Glad you like my 96 Fxdl, I like it too. Thats the bike's pic .
Getting out of the parking lot was a real PITA as the line of bikes going in and out was endless. We were lucky a few had stopped to let a bike make a left turn into the parking and we took the advantage of the situation to turn out into the line of exiting Bikes. Took the long way home (an extra 3 or 4 miles) to avoid all the MANY MANY bikes heading down US-1 towards the Iron Horse or point further South like Main Street.
I'm very proud of myself as I only spent $2 on a bottle of water. Did not even buy a T-shirt.
I have Magnaflow Slip-ons on Big Sister so I'm looking at a set of their true dual "Pro-Duals" header pipes for some improved performance....but there is that DAMN warrenty problem again! Oh well...can't even spend some money if I wanted to.
Tomorrows ride will be another short ride down to the Speedway to check out the vendors down there but I will do it early in the morning to avoid the rush. Not very likely to spend anthing there either.
Being a local during Bike Week is not the most enjoyable time to ride. The bikes will be parked more than ridden this week.

The Best of Harley-Davidson for Lifelong Riders
Sunday, we were all set to take off in the morning for a nice ride when I found my battery was dead. I had been working on the bike Saturday afternoon and had the lights on a lot with out running the bike. The bike was plugged into the battery tender but we realized later that the tender was not in the outlet all the way so it wasn't charging. So we tried to jump start the bike throught the tender plug and in doing so I fried both sets of the dash panel micro switches...costly lesson. We wasted most of all day Sunday diagnosing the problem and then had to go to two diferent dealers to get replacements. $140+ later we finally got every thing back to gether and got the bike started using a real battery charger connected directly to the battery. After supper we did a short ride down Nova to Dunlawton Causeway bridge and the back up on A1A crossing back over on the SR-40 Causeway bridge and back home, just to make sure all was good.
My son was looking to get some DIFFERENT dealer T-shirts, so on Monday we rode SR 40 over to Warhorse Harley in Ocala and came back the long way heading South down towardThe Villages and picked up SR-42 for a nice ride back East to Deland and then back home. As we all know Warhorse Harley is under new ownership and they are using a new HORSE symbol on their dealer products.
We did a smilar run on Tuesday (yesterday) riding US-1 up to the new Ademic Harley showroom in St. Augustine. After getting a few more T-shirts with their Pirate face on the back, we rode over to Woodpeckers Backyard BBQ for a very good lunch. Although we were able to sit inside they were serving everyone like "take-out". Everything was packaged like you were picking up to go. No sauce bottles or anything else on the tables and after dinners left a table it was disinfected immediately. They are managing to stay open by doing what they have to do. Again, we took the long way home on Fla-13 that runs along the St Johns river down to 204 East and then wound our way down through Palm Coast and making one more stop at Destination Daytona so my son could pick up some Bike Week 2020 poker chips. We walked over to get some Icecream but the Ice cream stand was closed for ST. Pat's day...go figure. We had to be satisfied with ice cream from my freezer later in the evening.
All in all it was an nice few days of riding but unfortunately he has to get back home for work and had to head back up the NC today. I cought up on my sleep by taking a nice nap this afternoon
