Myself and a friend from Colorado are planning a 3 day 2 night ride almost around the perimeter of FL, We are leaving from Jacksonville Beach heading across to Crystal River, South from there along the Gulf to the Cape Coral area. Back east along Lake okeechobee to the Jupiter area, then North on A1A back to Jax..
Iv'e never been to the Gulf Coast , Looking for suggestions on places for food and drink along the way , Nothing fancy biker and tiki bars will do . what you got in your area ? Thanks for any help. BTW we will not be taking any highways .
Take 98 along the Gulf, a very pretty ride. Crossing over to the East coast there are not too many options, the town of Okeechobee has plenty of restaurants and diners. You can barely see Lake O except in one or 2 locations like Port Mayaka so don't expect any views.
Take Rte 42 and the Tamiami Trail (Rte 41 south of Tampa to Miami) and avoid I-75.
When you break eastbound on 41 (Naples toward Miami), stop in at Joanie's Blue Crab Cafe (39395 Tamiami Trail E, Ochopee, FL 34141) and make sure to USE THE GUY'S BATHROOM. You won't be disappointed.
Also, call ahead to make sure they're open (239-695-2682)

the ladies bathroom is a hoot too. Is Joanie's still open? Heard they were selling a while back but maybe they changed their minds
