Florida vacation help needed...

Florida vacation help needed...
The wife and I have decided that next year for Christmas we're taking the kids and grandkids to Disney World for a few days and hoping to find a cool beach house for another week or so while we're there. Looking at a map does me no good as I don't know the state. Looking for some advice on a good beach area that would have vacation rentals (on the beach would be a bonus) not too crowded with stuff to do and see around the area.

Atlantic beaches are about an hour drive East and Gulf beaches are an 1 1/2 hour drive West v depending on traffic. Gulf beaches have the white sand and the Atlantic beaches have bigger waves for the surfers. Figure out what coast you want then we can help you.

From the mouse house in Orlando Clearwater/St. Petersburg beaches will be the closest Gulf beach. A little further south is Ana Marie Island/ Longboat Key which is also a great beach area. All have vacation rentals.

Being a biker you may like Daytona Beach or just south in the New Smyrna Beach area, plus the prices may be quite a bit less than the west coast area. You can also drive on the sand in certain areas of both cities. Lots of on beach and near the beach rentals as well as bike related businesses and areas. Both are approximately an hours drive out of Orlando.
