Hey FL Crew,
I'm Looking for a nice place to take the mrs. for our 20th anniversary in August. she was thinking Key West or something like that. I guess the keys are ok, but i am looking for some other options. She's new at being a passenger so i want to keep it at about 200 miles or less.
Looking forward to any suggestions.
thanks
Dave
They have awesome horse drawn carriage rides (although in this heat, it may be considered cruelty to animals).. and SO much historical stuff, the fort, awesome bars and restaraunts. We went about 6-7 years ago.. and that's way too long not to go back.
there is a resort at the north end of captiva island. south seas. I have stayed there a few times in the summer and the rooms nice and resonable. http://www.southseas.com/
At least make reservations for a meal there some night if you go to St. Auggy.
This place is very worthy for an Anniversary get-away.
You have lots of other choices. IM me if you want things narrowed down a bit or you want feedback. I could also shoot you a couple of nice day ride routes, lunch and dinner spots. Any budget.
Since I'm the PoorBoy, I can give ya the real cheap ways to be up there. Heeeeeee heeee heee.
Thanks for the info Paul.
i think she might have narrowed it down a bit by distance.
naples, keys or captiva island. i think if she could handle 350 miles, cedar key looks like it would have been perfect. the condo's susan found for us on the last ride out there were great. unfortunately, 5-6 hours in this heat would probably kill her.
i should know soon where she decides.
thanks again for all the input guys.
Dave
