New to the Crew Section
As for me, I just want to be done with all the politics and various other stuff that goes with this job. The Sailor part is fine, it's the other things that make it a pain.
With the updated education benefits that stareted in August, and the travel he can do, and all the untaxed money he is getting Right Now just for being out there, he's got alot going for him if he stays in.
Me, I'm gonna retire and TRY to teach Middle School . Want a 'calming' type of job for awhile.
lNow I just need my BIKE and I'll be ok for a day or so!
Wow 10 deployments....and now your done with them? That is a lot of time. I think my son is in a squadron(VFA86) and attatched to the USS Ninmitz. He is talking about staying in for his 20 yrs and I hope he does. I am of course worried...with him going on deployment.
No more "doing it by the book." I have been retired Air Force since 1995.......I haven't seen a 'book' yet. I am sure there are some books....but not where I work.
(Key words where I work...if you can picture. The words "I don't know.".......watered down to a 'shoulder shrug' and the uttering of "Uh-uh-know."
That is the answer to anything a boss asks...."Uh-uh-know."
Gets most out of work...and in one instance, a promotion.
Oh..but if you want to teach Middle School, you will hear plenty from the students. Think you worked with knuckle heads in the military, middle school kids got them beat. Rent the movie 'kindergarten cop'...(and get yourself a BIG whistle).
Get on your bike and ride.
You takes your chances.

Those words don't mix too well... Trust me. I have seen plenty of teachers go through hell in middle school. I work as an SRO in a high school. Elementary school is okay and high school is okay, but the kids in middle school are just starting puberty.... They go crazy.. But if you are still willing to take it on... I take my hat to ya.
at the Leowes Resort in Coronado Bay, CA just enjoying the company for a change. For a change I can relax and unwind and NOT have to deal with the "Kids" on the ship.
it's only for one night, but it sure feels good just being able to unwind.

I currently supervise 30 911 call takers/dispatchers. While they're damn good at what they do, and very professional, this job is tougher than anything I ever did on active duty.
Book? What book?
However now at the Ford dealer getting oil changed in my truck.
Otherwise have no idea what i'll be doing rest of the day. Although SLEEP does come to mind.
