I gotta early birthday present today - I got to see one of the bikes upclose at the HD dealer here in Honolulu. sat on it as well and it wasn't as awkward As I thought.
There is nothing like pulling that beautiful piece of artwork, known by many as a Harley Davidson, out of the garage. Putting on your gear one piece at a time just thinking about riding. You climb on top her and settle into the saddle. You grip the bars, turn her on and gently press the start button. She responses with a deep rumble and a musical rhythm known only to a Harley. As the vibrating energy tranfers from the bike to your body, you shift her into first. As you slowly release the clutch and feather the throttle, you head off into a heaven of bliss. You finally make your way away from the busy city and find a lonely two lane road in the middle of noway. Finally you become one with your bike and all of your problems and stress burn up in the exhaust roaring from your thundering pipes.

Well, I was having a couple of beers, 2 to be exact, at a time, and got a read on this. That, was, beautiful Murph-ster. Think I'll have a 3-way tonite. RKC-2Beers-Rooty Hubba Hubba!
Will be driving my F-150 BACK to St. Augustine in early December to rejoin the Wife and kids and RETIRE.
Bill, If your making your way to St. Augustine via I-10, give me a call when you hit the panhandle. Maybe we could meet up for lunch or dinner (There's a Hooters at Exit 56).
Sitting here, watching the wife make dinner, while I'm drinking a Bud! Life's great.
First beer since I left on May 28th. And in a few minutes, I'll get another one. Gotta watch it, because I have duty tomorrow - gotta be in at 7am BACK on the ship. What a PITA!
Got in about 1:30 pm Florida time today off deployment.
No more deployments for me. That is if you don't include being stuck out here in California another 50 days.
I can actually walk more than 1000 feet without hitting water for a chance. Bill

I'm an "ATC". And I'm winiding down my 10th and final deployment.
I'm glad to here when these young sailors like your Son go into the Aviation side of the house. Alot of job possibilities once he gets out, especially with what he's going to be doing.
I'm on the Ronald Reagan out of San Diego. Is you Son in A Squadron, or onboard a carrier in an AIMD?
As for the bike, I'm REALLY tempted to try a rental once I get my endorsement done.
Bill
Hey Bill,
Wow 10 deployments....and now your done with them? That is a lot of time. I think my son is in a squadron(VFA86) and attatched to the USS Ninmitz. He is talking about staying in for his 20 yrs and I hope he does. I am of course worried...with him going on deployment.
