Default which bike?

posted on here before asking questions but can't find the thread.
i'm going to be hiring a bike from during my holiday there from Orlando HD. it's a toss up between a softail heritage & a FLSTSB crossbones. i like the look of the crossbones better but which one would be best for some serious travelling?
thanks Paul

for your serious traveling go with a touring class bike.

For me to suggest a touring style bike would bias. If you are truly unsure, them rent them both and then decide. The bike for you should; ride the best, handle the best, control the best… These are all questions that only you can answer. I love me RK, but a friend of mine loves his Night Train. We both rode our bikes up to the mountains for two weeks. He never complained about his Night Train. I hope this helps..

I don't like the seat on either for long rides, so IMO, rent a touring bike. The crossbones seat is adjustable forward and back, but it's hard to strap on any gear. The Heritage seat has a ridge that digs into my back that really bugs me, but you have lots of room for gear.

Have a great trip!

thanks for the repies chaps.
think i'll probaly end up with the heritage although i'd much sooner be riding the crossbones. a much more basic looking bike which i prefer.
& there'll be lots more questions as the holiday date gets nearer.
cheers Paul

A bit late on the response but of the two choices, I'd have to go with the Heritage......yes I'm a little Bias. That said, for long distances the high handle bars of the Crossbones would cause a pinch in my neck that would take days to work out and it has no room for storing of strapping anything on.......I love the look of the Crossbones but.......no ape hangers for me!!!!! The other guys are right though......if your going to some serious traveling, the touring bikes are the only way to go.........
