I'm gonna buy my first harley in a couple months and I thought this might be a good way to get opinions about dealerships in the area, from central to north florida. I'm in Jacksonville and was thinking of buying from St. Augustine HD but am willing to drive as far south as Ocala.
I will be buying an Ultra or Ultra Limited since I recently sold my "Oldwing" and I think I'm going through withdrawls....... so I'm just looking for dealership impressions, sales and service departments.
I bought my bike at Adamecs. I have great credit, but had to haggle over the intrest rate they wanted. Almost walked out twice. Then I had to gaggle over NOT getting gap insurance and extended warranty.
It was probably the WORST hour of my life. That was at the Baymeadows store.
I took my bike to the Atlantic store for the 1,000 mile service. Told them the manual was in the saddlebag and asked them if they'd fill in the section on service. When I got the bike back, there was an inch of water in the bag and the manual was messed up. Did they fill in the section? No.
When I get another bike, I will go back....just to give them a chance, if they don't do me right in 10 minutes, I'll tell them my previous experience and tell them to never call me and I will go somewhre else.

Ed,
Go see TROY at HD at the St. Augustine dealership. Tell him Bill sent you.
They did my delivery for me back in April.
Sales wise it was painless, once the bike arrived. I had a special delivery via the Navy. They were up front with everything. No behind-door stuff.
Service kinda rubbed me the wrong way because of repair parts delays beyond their control (the factory was dragging its a$$ getting stuff to them) - but if I hand't wrecked my bike I wouldn't have had to deal with that situation to begin with.
Service/Parts are very knowledgable. Charlie behind the desk knows his S#it.
Shannon the General Manger is worth the trip alone!
ST Aug is good but Gainesville HD has always done me straight up and forward and never argued one time with a couple warranty issues Sales and Service are horses of another color read some of the nightmare stories in here about how a few dealers that forgot who were after bought the Bike .. Regardless wish you well ..
Ocala I have heard from several people they are honest, personally I think I got jipped. But the point is, a few people were surprised. Maybe I had IDIOT on my forehead that day....or every day?
There IS one dealer central gulf coast that went out of their way to please, unfortuneately I cant remember the name (lot of good that does ya) maybe someone can help me here.
There is also a dealer experience thread that discusses exactly what youre looking for, good luck on your new purchase!
I bought mine at Space Coast in Palm Bay great sales dept. Service is beyond expectations parts dept is also great. Like them so much that we are looking at another bike for my wife from them.
