Speaking of tires. Whoever designed the valve setup on the spoked wheels on the Road King Classic should have had their *** kicked. I just checked the pressures in my tires for the first time ever in 14 months. (OK, for that I should have my *** kicked.) Took me nearly 45 minutes (mostly rear) trying to get the gauge lined up to get an accurate reading, addng air, losing air while trying to get another reading... and so on. What a pain in the ***!
Additionally, another thing to add about the NON service I got at my 20K from Rossmeyer. Not only is that on the list for them to do, I specifically requested it. They were 30 FRONT / 32 REAR and SHOULD be 36/40.
Probably would have been faster. With the RK Classic with disc brakes, as well as the spoked wheels, it is REAL hard to get my hand in between the spokes. I still have the marks on my hand forcing it past everything. I kept losing more air than I was getting in it.
But when I just went for a ride, what a difference.
If you only check the air in your tires once every 14 months, please remind me to ride behind, way behind, you on our rides. LOL!!!!
Low pressure in tires can sure build up some heat and blow.
Yep... that is why I FINALLY checked it. But I had nitro put in a year ago and everytime I have had something done at HD, I always requested they check it. The intervales were all pretty short, so it is not like I did not check it at all. Then again HD didn't this past time. Truth be told, I checked the fron once and it was only 2 PSI off. But still no excuse. Gonna stick to in espessially now that I introduced straight oxegen to it.
It was a sad turnout for the Florida crew today. I was there and so was A1AGoose and Sofadog but no one else was there. P8nter you called for the ride where were you?

Some folks are like that...and calling out Painter on this one.If you say you are going
to go on a ride, you have to make an attempt. If you are the "forming' the ride...
you might want to be there. No rules, I understand. But if you might not be able to show....don't plan it, or don't commit to being there.
Me? I usually ride alone anyhow...so if no one shows up, I am still by myself.
But if I say I am going to be there and don't ride...I blame Barbara.
Wish I could have been there....but was at Capt Hirams Friday/Saturday.
Crew might want to check that place out if they haven't already...
about 1/2 mile north on the opposite side of the road.

That's why I aways say "maybe" just like this week.
Give P8nter a break though. I'm thinking he typed out the directions before leaving, but then could not understand what he typed and is still on his way to Earls.
Dude, I am just glad you are ok. Be safe and before you know it, we will be out riding again.

Thanks for the kind words fellas I'm glad I'm ok as well. A few inches in a different direction or different angle and my left leg would have been toast.
Spoke to the Service manager again today when I drove over to get my stock seat and the box for the Sundowner and he said the frame swap would be worst case scenario, that they won't know for sure until the bike is here and they start taking off the crash bar, but that it's possible the are where the crash bar attaches under the forks could just be hammered back in place welded and touched up with paint, so we'll see. The adjuster is suppose to call me by lunch time on Monday, and we'll go from there.
JD- thanks for the encouragement about them totaling it or not, just don't know with bikes as I've never crashed on one before. I know with cars most insurance companies will total it if there is sufficient frame damage if for no other reason because of liability.
