Rode my bike yesterday, first and only time since the Crystal River ride last week. Bike handled fine both last week and yesterday.
Went out to my garage this afternoon and noticed a screw in my back tire (See picture).
Don't know if the tire got "screwed" last weekend or yesterday, but I need to get it fixed regardless. Dealer says to have bike towed (have HOG membership to handle the fees on that) and they will get it fixed. I also have Tire and Wheel warranty so hopefully it will be covered.
Question? Do I take the screw out and attempt to ride it to the dealer? Leave the screw in it and ride it to the dealer to get it fixed? Or call a tow truck and have them bring it for me to get it fixed? The tire is still holding pressure at this point as well.
May not be able to get it fixed until next Saturday, so I'll be unable to ride all week if I do that.
Don't like not being able to ride it becasue I can't take off from work to get the tire fixed.
Bill I also have the tire and wheel waranty and got a screw in the tire. As long as you have 3/32nds remaining all you should have to pay for is the cost of wheel weights.
If the tire is holding air I'd ride it into the dealer and let them replace it since you have the warranty. I have no problem with plugging a tire though if there's no warranty.

Dennis - I've only got about 2500 miles on the bike so I'm thinking I should be fine with the tread depth. Just hope they have the tire in stock when I bring it in. This really suc#s !!!!

I'll likely ride it to them Tuesday or Wednesday, after I get off work, since they're closed tomorrow. Also not gonna mess with the screw itself. If it's flat come tuesday, then I'll just have to have it towed I guess.

You should be good with the tread and the warranty, unless you have been doing a lot of burn outs. I got a screw in my rear tire with 5000 mi. and didn't have any problem with the warranty, didn't cost me a thing, not even for the wheel weights. I rode my almost 30 miles to the dealer, with the screw in it. Should be ok, maybe just take it slow and easy in case anything should happen.
