Hey guys, I'm over here in Brandon and just sold my sporty and and getting ready to start looking for a FLHR. I was hoping you guys/gals could let me know which dealers you got your bikes from, hopefully recently, and give me an idea of what they were trying to stick you for as far as delivery and set-up. Possibly how you made out on your deals if they cut you any slack. ( Haven't bought since 05)
I'm gonna start down at Manatee River and Rossiters and then try Crystal River and probably Lakeland. The Tampa trio aren't even in the discussion!! Dunno about Jim's or Fletchers.
How about Sanford or Orlando? Worth the trip to Destination??
I appreciate your input in advance and hope to join you folks on a ride soon
We got ours at Space Coast in Palm Bay, they are really making deals to move bikes, the new owners thought is that he would rather sell 100 bikes at a smaller profit than 10 bikes at a large one. If you go ask for Jack or Bob.
Here in St. Augustine they got me 4-months no payments on my '11 Road Glide Ultra.
My same bike down at Destination was $5,000 more than St. Augustine, before any discussions were had, so I didn't have any with them about it.
Just my $0.02 .
I know several peeps that have got great deals on vehicles this way and if I was in the market for a new bike this is how I would do it. Send a RFP (request for proposal)fax or e-mail out to all dealers in FL & GA, ask for their best price on the model and options you wanted. State that you are a buyer that is ready to pull the trigger but don't have time for BS. Also let them know if you want to pay cash or finance and request the terms of both. Request what the color combos they have in stock and when you could pick up the bike. Might help to state that time is of the essence and you don't have the time to spend in face to face contact and are ready to make a deal.
One thing I forgot, try and find out who the sales manager is or owner is and see that he gets it, it might help in not paying more multi sales commisions.
I bought 2 bikes at Lakeland Harley they aren't bad to deal with. You might want to check with Stormy Hill HD in Clermont as well. Talk to Chip, tell him Jay and Susan said talk to him.
My brother and I both bought from Gator HD with in the last year. They will make deals. My brother got a much better deal then I did, talked them down $2500 and got a $500 gift card.
I was just hanging at Ocala HD, and a salesman there told me they are waiving dealer fees. If you are having trouble finding a bike...Randy at Ocala HD, seems to be able to find anything. At leastgive him a call, tell him what you want, year, color, make and your budget...see what he comes up with.
Great leads! I'm 'bout over the Tampa Trio myself. I got a buddy workin the shop in the Gulfcoast HD store, in NPR. I hear tell they are hurtin for sales and still won't budge on deals! My next buy will be from anyone other then this bunch as well.
Good luck with your adventure... and please do post how it goes. Would be very interested to hear where you found the best of the worst.
NOT worth the ride to Daytona. They won't deal. I bought two in Sanford and got a decent deal both times. No hassles or BS and got what I was promised. Ask for JD.
