I have signed up to participate in the BigMoneyRally, a new Rally in a different format(for those you are familiar with 24hr, 3-day and so on long distance events.
details here.... http://bigmoneyrally.com/2012/
Anyways, I have a question. Is there any Summit's in Florida? I'm looking for a sign that has the word "summit" in it with an elevation on the sign that I can ride the bike to, the sign and bike need to be in a picture.
No, the top of the Skyway wont count.........
Here is the marker on Britton Hill the Highest point in Florida. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Britton_Hill Does not say Summit. Sugarloaf is the second highest and there is not even a marker up there. Do the rules say it has to be in Florida?
The word "Summit", the name of the Summit, and the elevation have to be on the sign. Any summit, on the continent will work. I'm just now planning Florida stops. There are over 800 Post Offices that are worth 2 points each, 34 in Florida, from Key West to Fort Walton.
The first Bonus listing and points are posted on the Website.
This "Big Money" Rally sounds fun. If only they had named it something else... I just can't stop thinking about all that... BIG MONEY (that they will be raking in). At 50bucks a pop, every 1000 contestants is $50,000 bucks!
Thanks, but I'll post all my priceless pics for free, right here in the FLCrew section...
Rally Bastards(those who set up and run the rally) don't make a whole lot of money when all is said and done. $50 is a CHEAP rally entrance fee, check the fees to run the IronButt(if you qualify) or the Utah1088 3 day rally, or the Minuteman1000, or the 10n10............
So far RenoJohn has 101 riders for the Big Money Rally. $50 dollars gets you a t-shirt, and other throw-ins(hats, water bottles etc.) but most of all you get to see a lot of country. Some people can handle it, some people can't.
Ironbutt's "Florida Mountain 1000" is in March, $60.12 to register, $50 for dinner as well.......
Done lots of iron butts never paid a fee to do so .. Don't have a patch to prove I did but I know I did it .. All that counts .. Main thing is enjoyed the ride doing it ..
