Only a few more days and I'll be hauling the scooter from Illinois down to Ft Myers Beach for the month of March. Looking forward to a lot of warmer weather riding! I do have a question about overnight parking. It seems the wife doesn't want to ride from Ft Myers to Key West so I'm looking for a place to safely park my truck and trailer at the top of the Keys for a night. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks!
What I do is hit a storage place, tell them you only want to stay
how long. with me they have always said give me $ 20 or $ 30.
well worth it to be in a secure place.
Yeah...I liked the storage place for security too. I also thought about doing an RV campground and getting a tent site and leaving the truck and trailer there....
Thanks for the responses though and the offer to park at your house! You need to color Illinois on your map...lots of good rides in Southern Illinois and the Great River Road from starting in Alton.
I've gotta weigh in here... Why are you trailering? Between Naples and Weston (about 100 miles) is some of the best scenic riding. Many weekends the mood just strikes me and I head to Naples, fuel up, and head right back home. Even nicer if you take Tamiami Trail instead of Alligator Alley.
several years ago,my dad had a friend that rented a house on stilts at daytonia . he had a huge uncutable cable to lock the bike to the house pillion.. went down the next morning and the cable was torched and the bike was stolen.. i always heard you nee to have the bike stored inside or locked to yourself while you sleep.. unfortunately i have never been there, so it is all hearsay..some day i will make it. and my bike is a rat so i wont have to worry about it disappearing
As I now live way up in North FL and don't get south too much anymore.. If had a place in Fort Myers to store I would Leave the Truck there and Ride out and enjoy South FL ..
