Chris if you choose to go the HID route you will be pushing the charging system to its limit. Also the ballasts and bulbs do not like vibration and jarring that you will get with your bike on struts.
Good choice on the "no go" for the HID's.....they are not very durable. Personally, I'm running LED's, love the white light and the increased vision. They can be spendy though.
Being able to see the deer, elk, pig, cow that is standing in the road is worth it's weight in gold though...........(ok, so there is no Elk in Florida, wishful thinking on my part)

I rode past a herd of them yesterday outside Maggie Vally, so they're not that far away.
Ha believe it or not, I actually ran over a 5-6 foot alligator in the car the other night on 19 up by me. Nothing I could do to miss him since he was the size of the lane. Thankfully I wasn't on the bike as I probably would have been seriously injured because of traffic. I see a lot of deer my way too.
I don't know what's different about the hid kits for a bike but the car stuff always seemed fine. Including 300-1000whp setups, drag cars and track cars.
Also, I'm not impressed with the silverstar bulb either. It's whiter but that's about it.
How much are these led kits you guys are talking about?
