I could use some more light on my sportster as there are times when it's difficult to see at night. I'm not really sure which bulb to buy so I figured I'd get some opinions here.
If you're talking just a bulb replacement, get a PIAA Extreme White bulb.
They make LED headlights that are super bright, but the 5.25" Sportster size version doesn't work as well as the 7" used on the BTs. Not worth the $400.00 IMO.
Adding aux driving lamps is an option, but that depends on what year Sporty you have. 06 and earlier only have a 22amp charging system, so you have to pay careful attention to your total power load.
As Charlie said The Piaa Extreme white is a great bulb and will make a huge difference but are a bit pricey, 50 buck range but the will last for a long time.
Sylvania silverstars are a huge improvement over factory but will not last long with all the punishment it is gonna get in your bike being on struts. They are about 12 bucks.
Don't get a high wattage bulb because they will melt your plug. Don't ask me how I know that.

I went ahead and grabbed a silver star until I figure out what I want to do. For the money I may as well just do an hid kit and be able to see plenty. That might be a little fancy for me ha!
