Default Something's "slipping"...
I had my 20,000 maintenance last week. Yesterday I noticed that once I get to 5th and 6th gears at higher speeds the more throttle I give it the less mpg's I gain.
I see the rpm's go up as normal, but picking up additional speed is nearly nonexistent.

Any thoughts as to what could be the cause? Did the adjust the clutch incorrectly, something with the transmission? Lower speeds this is not noticeable.

Tomorrow it goes back in for warranty work on the fuel gauge, but will have them look to what is causing this.

I would bet money they got the clutch adjustment wrong.

clutch for sure.
i noticed a similar thing when i was in 6th and gave it a handful of throttle.
rpm went up. but no go. if i eased into more throttle, no problem.

Thanks Dave! Hopefully its just an adjustment and they don't try selling me a new one. It was fine before the maintenance.

Promise you the clutch isn't bad. Mine has 150,000 on it and still pulling just fine.

Had the same problem when I had my 07, simple clutch adjustment, fixed in 5 minutes.

I ride like I'm running from the fuzz and still on the stock clutch with 115k on it.
