Give Fuel Moto a call. They can answer any questions you might have and give you a good price. If you have a completely stock setup you'll want a Stage 1 Air Cleaner and some good slip on mufflers. If your bike is carburated you'll need to rejet, if EFI you can choose a good flash tuner or lots of different aftermarket fuel enricheners to choose from.
I just ordered a Roland Sands AC and Powervision tuner from FM on Tuesday and received on Friday. The RS AC was 40 dollars cheaper than most others and the Powervision tuner came preloaded with a map with my setup and a handlebar mount with sunvisor. Not to mention lifetime support and free maps with extra warranty.
Installed my AC today along with my Trucklite LED headlight I put on earlier last week. Waiting for my new headers to arrive by Wednesday so I can throw them on and flash the ECM, Stage 1 complete.
Then I'll just make a couple of Autotune runs to dial in the tune.
Do your homework and have fun. It's all a matter of preference when it comes to which one or what type, yours is the only one that matters.
well I have $2000 burning a hole in my pocket. I want to make a few upgrades to my basically stock 09 RK. I am thinking a stage 1 and a tuner.
Suggestions?
stage 1 plus tuner. Replace from the headers back to get rid of the catalytic converter.unless the 09 doesn't have one, I had an 09 road king but do not recall.
Cams, pipe, and a good tune then your in business. I have the cam tool you can use, just come pick it up or I can send to you via mail for the cost of a iced tea at the next rally.
I had a 103 CI kit with SE intake and tune put on my bike for about (if I recall) $1700....
the kit was on sale, half price when I got it. Rossmeyer in Ormond Beach installed it.
Probably be better with exhaust....but got to keep the back seater happy.
Another vote here for Jamie and Fuel Moto. They can hook you up with AC, header pipe, mufflers, and Powervision tuner mapped to make your bike run right the first time. I like the PV setup because if you add cams or other mods later, you won't have to pay for a retune. I'm sure a good Dyno tune can extract a couple more ponys than a preset map, but Jamie's maps are really spot on and I think you would be hard pressed to notice the difference.
