Figured it had something to do with the pigtail install. Glad you got it before the trailer did!
Thanks Roger, but it wasn't the install itself... it was after the fact trying to tuck the end up inside so it would not melt by hanging on the pipe like the last one.
Hmmmmmm, maybe I should take a look at mine and make sure it's not sitting on MY exhaust, lol.
Yeah, with the connector not fully seated it was likely grounding out. Glad it didn't come to an "ambulance" ride for your bike! Have fun in the Keys and be safe.
Yesterday I found out that my brake lights weren't working. I was a few miles away from the "new" Chester's, so I headed there. They were great and took the bike in and looked at it right away. But when they came back and told me that I needed BOTH a front brake light switch AND a rear brake switch, but they had neither in stock, I was less than impressed. Will take 5 days to get them in. On the good side, they told me they will pickup and return my bike for free. After signing a release, that riding without brake lights could cause serious injury, or death, I headed out.
On my way home I pulled over and called North Miami HD... Told them what I needed, and they said they have 4 front switches, and 14 rear switches in stock... But it was late and the techs were off in 30 minutes.
Hopefully, Chester's not having adequet stock of an ordinary item is just because they are still getting organized and Rossmeyer let stock dwindle prior to selling out.
