Ok I was a bad girl, I turned right onto a quiet road a couple of Saturdays ago, following a really slow car. I look ahead and saw nothing coming, so I opened up the throttle and zipped past the snail driver, crossing double lines in the center of the road. Out stepped a Boca cop with the radar gun.
I pulled into the parking lot where they were doing all the checks, said I knew what I'd done and was sorry, got asked for my license, insurance and registration. I had the first 2 in my wallet and the registration in my saddlebag, so instead of waiting for me to find my registration he went off to his car to run my info.
About 5 minutes later he came back, asked me to show him my registration which I did, then told me he was giving me a verbal warning for doing 55mph in a 30 zone, a written warning for crossing the solid no passing lines, and a ticket for not showing my registration. He wished me a nice day and told me to wear my seatbelt!!
The non moving violation cost me half an hour at the Delray Courthouse and a $10 fine. I was very lucky.
I did buy a MC radar detector but haven't been out to try it.
A good place would be where they have stationary radar showing your speed.
Now to find one.
