I've heard that if you put helium in your tires your bike will sound like a crotch rocket.

If you fill them with H2O they will hold a much much more consistent temp, pressure and auto balance!

off course not at 40k feet, nitrogen plays its part when the jet tires land on runways, that is where the tires get massive pressure in regards of all the weight.

I'm sorry but I find it hard to believe that you can actually FEEL a difference in your ride and handling with nitrogen in your tires.

I only notice a change in pressure when I do a bumpy landing.

Sooooo, you think that normal air is not capable of withstanding the pressures of landing? You are aware that air is almost 80% nitrogen right? LOL
Nitrogen is used in aircraft tires for the pressure stability when going to different elevation and temp extremes.
They (the car tire dealers) are pushing it to make a buck. Nitrogen in your car tires will help keep the pressure stable but you still need to check them every couple weeks, just like air. If you have your own compressor and you install a drier on it, you will have succeeded in getting most of the minor benefits of nitrogen without paying for it.
