wave. I was raised to be polite, and in West Texas you always wave. It's just the way we do things.

Little kids are for the most part fascinated by loud motorcycles. When a biker waves to them they love the acknowledgment. So I usually wave to the cute little brats.

Yeah, I couldn't figure it out when I moved to the south and folks were waving. You're right about up north, I don't recall anyone on bikes or anything else for that matter waving lol. I'm a fan of the one finger wave as well when the circumstances call for it.

sometimes, you know? I just don't want to wave. You wave...I don't. Don't take it personnal. I love your bike. It looks cool coming towards me a 60 MPH, I see you,
but don't wave. I drive an F-150 pick up .....I don't flash my lights or blow my horn at other F-150s. (I hate when PT cruiser drivers wave at me in the GFs PT)
Just because you ride a Harley doesn't mean I like you.

This was my first summer back on the bike after 10 years. I sort of remember mostly waving in the 80's and 90's only at other Harleys and there weren't all that many on the road.

Lots more waving going on in April than October

I do wave to be friendly (all on 2 wheels included) but what is the rule for a group comin' at ya? It feels kinda goofy sticking your hand out for 10-15 bikes.
I guess I could just ask my wife to take over when my arm gets tired.

What's with the Biker WAVE?

Today I went riding and this morning passed a group of 6-8 HD riders on touring bikes and not a one returned my friendly wave. Whats up with that? I have been riding for many years and generally wave to everyone (OK, not to crotch rockets because I generally despise them) but to all Cruiser riders on any brand, not just HD. Many guys on Gold Wings, Honda's you name it gladly wave too and usually they do it first. I think there is possibly a segment of HD guys who don't believe in it or only wave to other HD riders and maybe my new HD Road Glide doesn't look like the stereotypical Harley coming at them with the "shark nose" fairing and double headlight?

Anyway, I just wanted to throw this topic out to see what others here think?

(P.S. some of you guys are takin' this thread WAYYYYYY too serious and it wasn't intended to be a serious gripe, it was intended for lighthearted conversation. I mean, who really cares seriously about this chit )

NOW 12 PAGES OF RESPONSE!! WINTER MUST BE UPON US!!

With the popularity of riding, it is becoming a little much to wave to every person riding.

SNS - I have found that the number of Harley riders that wave has diminished since I traded my Road King in for the Road Glide. I assume that they are just jealous...
