I went to Philly for the first time this week, unfortunately not for the World Series, it was for a training class. I had a cheesesteak from Pat's, it was awesome. Where is your favorite place to get a cheesesteak in Philly?
If you thought that was good, then you should get a really cheesesteak. Pat's and Geno's are tourist traps. Thier cheesesteaks suck. Go to the little not so famous shops that use real cheese and not cheese wiz.
Funny, my dad was born and raised in the Tacony section of Philly and when I lived there for a time he always took me to Geno's to get a REAL Philly cheesesteak.
The cheese whiz crap is what makes it a real Philly cheesesteak. lol
Back when I used to drive a big truck there was this place called Money's on 301 in Middleton, Delaware. Mmmmmm. Best cheesesteak ever back in the day.
was a place outside of Philly near Blue Bell ....Phil's was voted a couple of times as having the best cheese steak by Philadelphia Magazine ,When ever I get back in town I try to stop by. www.thephilstavern.com
Gaetano's makes an awesome cheese steak. 18 inches of meat and white american cheese, none of "wiz". Too bad my gut can't handle the fried onions anymore but when it did.......WOW.
And for those poor unfortunate souls what have never tasted a really good cheesesteak, y'all don't know what you are missing.

I had a cheesesteak with provolone at Sonny's (small place in downtown Philly, near Penn's Landing) and one with cheese whiz at Pat's. I did not think I would like the cheese whiz, but I liked it better. Tourist trap or not, the cheesesteak at Pat's was great.

I used to love to go to Phil's. The last couple times I went past, they were out of buisness. I heard they re-opened but I have yet to see for myself. And yes they had great steaks. Jims on south st. were awesome too.
