I was reading in a touring magazine that when you're miles from home it's a good idea to hide a spare key on your bike in case you loose your set, you can then ride to the dealer instead of calling AAA.
I'm looking for ideas so if you do have a hide-a-key on your bike, please send me pictures of where you keep them and maybe where you live just in case I need a better look.
I have my spare key welded to the pin on a hand grenade, which is welded to the down tube in front of my saddlebag. Feel free to use it if you want, just pull on the key, it is on it's own ring, straddle the bike and start her up. You'll get a big bang out of how she runs. I'll call my insurance agent in case there is some mishap.
an old easyrider tech tip, put a spare set of keys in your tail light. tape them to the bottom of the lense so they don't rattle around in there. then all you need is a screwdriver to get your keys.
