What is up with all these self proclaimed "bikers" putting their bikes on trailers to go to bike weeks? BIKE WEEK not trailer week!!!
What I'm ranting about right now isn't about some long or even out of state bike week. I'm ranting about "bikers" in South Florida trailering to Leesburg!!! WTF???
What it says is..bikers do as they please, not what you'd like em to do.
Well I'll be dipped in shi*! Another " You dont do what I do so you aint cool thread!"
Let me explain. I live in Fla. but yet I trailered my bike to bike week. Yeah so shoot me! I also had my wife and dog with me. The wife likes to ride but the dog wants to drive and we are not having any of that. She loves to chase cats and well the first one she sees she is going to una** said scooter and lay chase to the feline. Bad situation, no driver. Also, I wouldnt have room on the bike for me, the wife, the dog, the new parts for the bike and all those cool t-shirts we are supposed to buy. Sorry I'm not Uber cool like you but, if you will buy me a H-D trike or a side car for mine then, if I dont ride to the carnival, you can come on a public forum and tell everybody how cool you are and uncool that I am.
You dig what I'm saying?

I have no issues with a trailer. I will be 67 here shortly, cannot do long rides any more. A place to put the bike that is safe and a place to store my stuff. To each his own.
I like sleeping in my trailer. A/C, semi soft bed, dry, only two legged critters[no scorpions or snakes]. No motel/hotel with bed bugs. A clean bathroom. My own good food at a reasonable cost. Hell, I am just spoiled because I want to be. Done it the other way for lots of years. Wet clothes, wet tent, hot tent, sweating my *** off in the tent, snakes and scorpions. Bad food and nasty bathrooms. Motels/hotels I wouldn't feel right leaving my ex-wives in. It is not that I can't ride the bike---it is the bike can't tow the trailer.
I have a truck camper, wife doesn't like long road trips on the bike and neither does the dog. I have yet to trailer either of my Harley's anywhere but sue me for hauling it in the back of the truck from the east coast to the the west coast when I moved. If....I chose to haul my bike behind my truck and camper all I have to say to anyone that don't like it is pi$$ off...I also wear a full face helmet when I wear one and will ride any weather except ice, I suppose that is wrong too?
I plan to retire in a few years, and I'd like to get out of the home ownership business, buy an RV, pull a covered trailer for my bike, and see the continent. Right now I ride my bike everywhere (and I mean everywhere) but there are situations where a trailer just makes more sense. Who cares?
Who cares if someone trailers their bike? They surely don't give a **** if you ride yours. Some people really have some complexes when it comes to judging what standards they think others should live by. If it doesn't affect you, mind your own business.

This is a hobby for some, a life style for others, but it ain't a religion, so don't go making up rules and criticizing others like they're commiting sins. Jeez, this isn't Afghanistan.
Amusing to see a thread like this. Everyone has a strong opinion that they should do what they feel like doing and leave well enough alone what other people are doing. I should probly add my ride vs trailer opinion too, huh?
Alright, here goes. I don't own an RV or a trailer, so I think everyone who does is a spoiled, rich,...blah, blah, blah.
I remember growing up in South Dakota, seeing all the bikes go by, on I-90 on thier way to the rally. More of them were ridden than hauled, atleast it looked that way from my teenage perspective. I just remember thinking, "someday I'm gonna get me a bike and ride to Sturgis." Heck it was only about 4-5 hours away. 20 years later, I finally have my bike, and I've got an ocean and half a content between me and the rally back home. Someday...someday.
