Don't ask, just buy it. How do you think I ended up with 4? My wife really had no clue until one day she popped into the shop. The conversations went something like this:
her: "Who's bike is that?"
me: "Buzz's"
her: Oh, who's is this one?
me: Slim's
her: Oh, who's is this one?
me: mine...
her: oh... yours, huh... who's is that one on the table you're building?
me: mine
her: what is is?
me: 58 pan
her: oh, so you've got 3 bikes?
me: no... 4
her: where's the 4th?
me: upstairs... in pieces.
her: why so many?
me: I like them...
her: how many run?
me: of mine? ...2
her: why don't the other 2 run?
me: get out of my shop!
her: ok...

Mine just asked how much did your engine work cost ($3.6k)...I told her over a grand. I never lie. She just gets onto another subject cuz she has no interest in bike. I am thinking of trading her in for one that does...er wait I get to ride off alone. NM!

need/nēd/Verb: Require (something) because it is essential or very important: "I need help now".
Noun: Circumstances in which something is necessary, or that require some course of action; necessity: "the need for food".
No one "needs" two motorcycles, so the argument of need has no weight. Your wife knows you don't "need" two motorcycles, you "want" two motorcycles, so either you can have what you want, because you can afford it, have time to use it, etc. So forget the "need" argument and get what you want.
