Default patches

Patches, wasn't that a cartoon dog character a while back. No wait, I'm talking about the sew on things. So tonight, I go down to a local watering hole, drove the truck, and there are several bikes there. Sometimes a couple, but tonight maybe a dozen or more. As I go in I am thinking maybe a local outlaw group (club) is there and I'll have to shoot my way in and out. Actually I just walked in and sat at the bar. For a M/C they were pretty benign in my opinion. No cartoon dogs at all. But I digress, so anyway I notice some decorations on some of the vests and jackets, so I casually put my glasses on and without appearing to stare, I try to read what is on these patches.

On one, a short stocky black dude it says President on top, some sort of round emblem in the middle and a local town name on the bottom rocker. I am confused by this. Perhaps I am in the midst of an unknown to me outlaw M/C club/gang, or perhaps he is part of the Obama re-election committee. Either way I want nothing to do with him. Another guy, a medium sized white dude has a "Lone Wolf" rocker on top, a "no club" rocker on the bottom and a rather goofy looking wolf head in the middle. He must have been a really bad apple because his jacket had fringe, you know the tassel type stuff and chains that held it together in the front. I didn't look too long because those chain might have been weapons. Frankly I expected a wolf to look meaner, but I guess you never know.

So it go me to thinking. I don't ride with a club, prefer to ride alone but I don't know where to buy a patch that says all that. And frankly I really don't want a snaggle toothed goofy looking wolf on my back, or any other part of me for that matter. But I am patchless and feel I need to express myself somehow.

So I am thinking of maybe getting some STP, ACCEL, Champion stickers and put on my jacket, I don't own a vest except the mil spec one for going on the Army base I sometime work. Don't think patches would be right on it. Since I don't know yet where my loyalties lie, would it be alright to use velcro to attach them to the jacket?. Then again I am not sure I want to sew velcro on my good Tour Master Jackets. Maybe I should buy another jacket for that purpose. Another delima was if I should use patches for products I don't use. Would that get my *** whipped or maybe worse? I certainly would not want to offend any real STP users.

I know the brain trust on this forum would not steer me wrong, so there fore I come to you for advice and counsel.

Hey Chunker,
Good question here on the islands there are a few Outlaw M/C and when there's a ride ie: Toys for Tots, ect.I always see Riders that are not affiliated with anyone with there own patch or logo on there jacket (Pack of 1,Self sponsored, ect.) I think you design your own patch/logo fly it fly it proud I know on the Mainland The M/C Gangs are very territorial but not being in a club shouldn't **** anyone off the BROTHERHOOD of riding should be what its about so to see someone with a jacket with his family crest or whatever it maybe shouldn't bother any local Outlaw M/C

I understand your dilemma and can help. Next time you are in a bar try looking at women. Notice the smoothness of their necks. Try estimating the size of their breasts.
If there are no women around, move on to the next bar.
Have faith, we can conquer your problem.

A smallish Brother recently got a full '12 Road Glide with the full tour pack.
Looks like he is riding in a bass boat. So we placed some nice Bass Pro Shops stickers on his new boat for proper effect.

That creates an interesting situation. Does that make you a closet patcher, should you come out of the closet/pocket. I need to check my jacket and see if I belong to that club. I can remember when I went to camp as a kid, my mom wrote my name inside my underwear and shirts. Guess I was a tagger or patcher long ago
