DONT UNDERSTAND WHY SO MANY PEOPLE TRAILER THIER BIKES???RODE MINE TO DAYTONA BIKETOBERFEST,WHEN I GOT THERE I SAW SEVERAL HUNDRED TRAILERS WITH 2 OR MORE BIKES INSIDE,THATS CRAZY,PLUS $30-40 ADAY TO PARK THEM THATS EVEN MORE CRAZY!!!!!!
I don't understand why so many people care what others do.
Some reasons: Health issues/physical limitations, time/vacation limitations (most can trailer farther each day than ride, many switch drivers and some drive round the clock), spouse who prefers to ride long distance in tow vehicle rather than ride on back the whole way, place to store and haul gear, place to camp inside rather than pay for hotels, weather issues (those of us in the North don't usually want to ride on several inches of ice on the roads in the winter, not to mention salt damage), some like to have a cage to drive in case the weather turns bad, somewhat secure place to park and store bike where prying eyes or bad weather can't usually reach, some enjoy tow rigs and/or toy haulers with all the gadgets and gizmos.
I do both. Sometimes I trailer and have a nice place to sleep with heat and A/C, sometimes I ride and camp in a tent or stay in hotels. This year I rode about 5500 miles before Sturgis. Other times I have trailered about 700 miles straight out there. I guess it all comes down to personal preference. Some insecure people think they are the hardest thing on two wheels because they ride everywhere, and others should do the same. I have put on well over 100,000 miles on bikes I have owned. Sometimes I just prefer to trailer it. I don't really care what other people think.

Five different weather advisories, 55 mph wind, surf across A1A at 6 PM on October 9 th when we got there might have had something to do with it. I have 25K miles on my 08 but am not volunteering to ride in those conditions if I don't have to. Put 1000 miles on during week and 300 more home on the 16th though.
