Softails -- especially Fat Boys -- are the real Harleys. Props for Dynas too, but those touring rigs are plastic slathered dump trucks. Softails are what Harley should have built in '58 instead of those shock-absorbered crap frames they turned out...
Looks wise--they go in this order, starting with the best looking at the top--This is only my opinion; not written in stone, and my opinion really ain't worth doodly-dick. So THERE!
I know RoadKing is a model, not a "family". But it is, IMHO, the best looking tourer, and equal to a Softail in aesthetic appeal. Also, this is a general guide only--some families have better looking models than in higher up families--for instance--even though I don't care for the StreetGlide, I think it looks WAY better than a Rocker.
Softails are certainly what bikes SHOULD look like .... (1) Fatboy: customized or stock ... Attitude, Presence, Style, Iconic ( Gotta be Black ) .... (2) Deluxe: better customized than stock although stock is ok, when this bike is done up for parade with a beautifull paint job and the bling earings this is the blank canvas of Harleys ...... (3) RoadKing Classic: Evokes the look of an era long past 77 sunset strip, Highway patrol, Whitewalled up Fat Daddie spoke wheels Classic black or Red, cruisin the strip this bike shouts "Nostalgia" .... (4) Dynas: regarded by many as THE Classic Harley .... (5) Heritage: for somebody who likes the nostalgia and adaptability of the bike and sooner keep it stock .....
are the best lookin harley models that have ever been made and ever will be, just what i hear, dont be hatin' the "mess"inger....dekkers are second, then sportsters and whatever else is left brings up the "rear"s
They are the best looking....but motorcycles are for riding..not looking at...
Best looking bike in the line up other than one bike. The last Wideglide with the correct rear fender. Too bad they dont make the widwglide any more...
