Sorry, no tats! I got rid of it a couple years ago when I got my 2011 Limited Ultra. Everybody from my grandkids to some riding buddies thought it was funny for awhile, but got to be old news. Now, I just don't wave, and hope the people who get upset, can get past it & enjoy the rest of their ride!
lol I'm 21 I get plenty and I dislike choppers almost as much as I love some chicken fried rice. I don't wave to people I don't know for that reason, I don't know them, and I don't care to. Not to mention all the 80 year old farts playing biker in sun city/hillsborough around here need to keep both hands on the bars.
Weird forum to hang out on if you dislike choppers ... you sir, sound like a big fat phony
I wave and wave back if I can. If you don't like it don't wave back. I wave as a matter of habit and probably don't know if whomever waved back or not.
I also drive a Jeep and a Corvette and most everyone in a Jeep or Corvette waves too. It's not just a biker thing.
I own a Jeep, Corvette and a Tri-Ultra. It is rare to get a wave from another Corvette driver, sometimes my wife waves at a Corvette and I see no reciprocal wave even if hey are close by.
Never noticed a wave from another Jeep driver and they fall into the 'ordinary' type car for me.
When I rode 'Metrics' in England during the 70's everyone waved then when I bought a Ducati most wouldn't wave back to me and some other Ducati riders did not wave.
Here on Socal I see a lot of bikes and I wave if I can and I see a lot don't wave back.......maybe it is because I am on three wheels and some don't see it as a 'proper bike?'
When I was riding in Germany everyone waved or stuck a left leg out.
I read something similar years ago, posted in an indi shop in Yuma, AZ...or maybe it was in San Diego.
I Always appreciated a wave back, but figure those that don't return a kind gesture have a bug in their azz I want nothing to do with.
Thanks for posting.
There have been times I didn't wave. Be it I was focused on an inattentive driver I was trying to get around and didn't see the other bike until they were past, or I was in the process of shifting, preparing to turn, or just plain was focused on my path and my immediate surroundings. But never just because I didn't feel like it.
Back when I got my learner's permit, I had to ride WITH another rider to be legal. I had a good friend who had a few years experience who would ride with me. He taught me about "the wave". Been doing it ever since. Harleys, metrics, scooter, anybody.
I do quite often. I think people tend to go a bit overboard with the 'brotherhood' stuff. There is a difference between being friendly and feeling like you have to wave at every bike that passes you on the road. When I first started riding I thought it was cool the first few times someone waved at me. Then it got annoying. Just being honest.
