The PGR has created a new patch to support the Legal Defense fund. If your interested, visit the home page at www.patriotguard.org where the patch can be viewed.
It would be much better looking if the gloved hand was presenting the flag properly to the receiving hands. The flag should be passed from the Gloved hand with the long flat side forward, and is never handed over point first. See the attached link for photo.
Personally..I think the entire squabble is childish. The PGR isn't a club...it doesn't need a legal defense fund..it doesn't need offices...officers...boards of directors etc. The PGR is - and was intended to be - nothing more than people supporting those that have served. We stand for those that stood for us! If we can't be grown up enough to just do what we should do..stand for those that stood for us...they we need to just stick to our arm-chair tactics and use a remote control to live our lives. I operate a local PGR site and I do it out of pocket. I buy my own flags..pins...banners etc. I show up...and don't care if I'm the RC or just the R(ider)...I'll gladly submit to whatever authority is there and organized enough to make things happen. If there's not one..I'll gladly step up and do what needs to be done. I'll not donate anything to the legal defense fund..I've viewed the Ebay listings and the shipping fees are ROBBERY. I think the PGR logo and name should belong to the initial creator..after all..it was his vision..his design..and his beginnings that started what we all love and appreciate - STANDING FOR THOSE THAT STOOD FOR US.
Back to the drawing board. On second look, it's realy difficult to tell the true orientation of the flag.
Ed, the way it looks to me is the PGR patch is wrong....the pointed side is definitely forward. In the picture you linked, the presentation is correct, with the flat side being presented (gloved presentation hand on right to receiver on left).

Troll
Ok, just as a point of clarification, I'd like to apologize to Ed (Wescoot2) as I attributed a quote to him when it was not him; and to Wecroft (whom I DID quote) for the mix up! Unless Wecroft is also named Ed, he's probably sitting there goin "who the hell is Ed?"
I'll try to pay closer attention next time guys, again, my apologies!

Thank you for saving me the trouble. The patch is only symbolic and not intended to be perfect.

I'm not here to debate this issue, but I will put forward some facts for you to think about.
The initial creator, adopted the name Patriot Guard Riders from another organization, which in fact has been documented to be the first user of a very similar name, and that is Kansas Patriot Guard.
Additionally where you stated.......his design.....please take a look at this website, and see where HIS design originated.
