Bought my Road Glide and along with other things I had to have was the Heavy Breather. In doing so I had to buy the Screamin' Eagle tuner. Now having Andrews 37 cams put in by my Indy and I have the tuner but do I need a program to do the changes? If so is this a CD or what is necessary? Sure do appreciate the help.
What probably should have happened is when you installed the heavy breather and the dealer sold you the tuner is they should have used it to load a new map on your bike to account for the breather. Then when you take it to the Indie and he does the cam you should take it to get dyno tuned. Most people would probably do pipes befor the cam but its not a law. The Screaming Eagle tuner is kind of an interface that allows you to adjust your ECM by downloading a map or getting it dyno'ed.
If ya want to mess with trying to tune it ya will need a cable (tuner to ecm) and SE program. I'm not sure if the program is downloadable?? Harley likes to sell the cable and cd as a separate kit to make make some cash off their customers. Dealer and dyno guys should have the cable and program if ya let them tune it. Really don't think there are any canned maps out there for the 37s?? Best would be a proper dyno tune.

The software is a free download, web address for down load should be on your tuner box. As old hippie said you will also need to purchase the cables separate.

1. When you purchased the SERT, I assume they loaded a new map based on whatever mods you made at that time including the heavy breather. You have the interface module since your SERT is now bonded to your ecm. With the cam install, your mechanic should know how to find a base map that matches your current set-up (intake, pipes, cam) and should be able to load it to the ecm using a laptop with the correct version SERT software and a interface cable.
2. The other option is to have it professionally tuned on a dyno and create a custom map for you bike. The better option if you find someone who is good with the sert. They will probably start with a base map and finetune it.
thats what I was thinking. he never mentioned if he had the street tuner or the pro race tuner. kinda like comparing a sammich to a lunch combo plate with drink included.
