My local dealer has these for that no fuss get it all out for the deep freeze coming on....The extra one is for that cheap thrill while the job gets done.

Really? You need a spare? Ever thought about just fetching it out of the oil drain pan?

Can someone with the JS jack and the oil catch attachment please post a picture of how you use it? I got one and could not figure out how to use it. Where I attached the pan on the jack made it impossible to get at the plug - when I moved it, oil went everywhere. I am not a smart man - I need photos.

Since it needs to be on the jiffy stand to check level, I don't use a jack

J&S jack with oil catch. Makes it easy up on the jack.

Your basic oil catcher works just fine. Fits perfectly when on the side stand. It's what I've been using. http://www.autozone.com/autozone/acc...er=505818_0_0_

So I went back and re-read it like you said, and realized I got it the first time.....just didn't pay any attention to who made the comments so I had to go back and see what you were talking about!

I've got a Handy Lift so I change mine on that. Before that, I did it on the jiffy stand and laid on the garage floor while doing so. My drain pan is one I bought years ago, a round, plastic pan about 15 inches or so across, about 3 inches high . It will drain the oil and trans fluid at the same time. I use an old ice cream bucket for the primary. Oil filter: Tried the green plastic thing and quickly nixed it. More trouble than it is worth. I stuff a rag under the filter to catch any drips. Make a aluminum foil funnel/trough for the oil to run out in. Punch two holes in the filter, at the top and the bottom, and let the filter drain. Then unscrew it. I never do make a mess doing it that way.
